I can’t tell you how many times I wish I had this Ranch Snack Mix on hand to bring to summer parties the past few weeks. It’s such an easy appetizer and hearty snack to make for a crowd and I love that this recipe is a classic, too. I grew up eating Chex Snack Mix and over time, I’ve added my favorite Ranch seasoning to the nibbler mix for an added twist.

Y’all, it has been raining in NOLA for 3 weeks and I’m in a bit of a funk. I have friends coming into town and this rain is just too much. Don’t get me wrong, I long for the days of reading a good book while the rain taters against the rooftop but at some point, life must go on!

I just got back to NOLA a few weeks ago after spending 2 months in Wisconsin and I’m dreading this weather, especially since it looks like it will be here to stay.On the other hand, this rain has given me time to clean every corner of the house and now I’m finally stocking our emergency hurricane kit. Only the essentials will make the cut and that includes this healthy snack Ranch Chex Mix!

I made a big batch of this seasoned snack mix and it will keep stored in the pantry until November.

But, don’t worry, this is the second batch I’ve made this week becauseit’s really delicious! I’m also stocking the pantry with these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Balls, these Strawberry Oatmeal Jam Bars. I can’t believe it has been 1 year since we flooded in a heavy rainfall. You can read more about that crazy experience here and also get the recipe for these insanely delicious Oatmeal Fig Bars.

To bring this healthy snack trail mix together, I add extra ranch seasoning, mustard powder, grated parmesan, and dried parsley to the top before serving. The seasoning mix adds a zesty, robust yet flavorful taste that can’t be beaten.

This cheesy Chex snack mix is also perfect for long road trips. I’ll be heading out to San Antonio to visit my sister next month and it’s an 8-hour car drive one-way. Matt and I will be making a stop in Houston to visitfriends but then we have our hearts set on visiting my sister’s new food truck, The Slider Shack.

We’ll be there to watch the ribbon cutting, something the community does to celebrate new business owners. I know this ranch snack mix will help curb hunger during the long road trip!

If you’re looking for a quick snack to bring to a party, school lunch snack ideas, pack for aroad trip, or to make for movie night, then this ranch cheese snack is for you. Even better, it can be made with ingredients you like. Sometimes, I like to skip the oyster crackers or peanuts and opt for Fritosor Bugles. Otherwise, the pretzels, peanuts, rice cereal, and cheese crackers taste delicious with this blended seasoning. Plus, it’s good with peanuts like pecans, walnuts, sliced almonds, cashews, and macadamia nuts.

Skip store-bought mustard pretzels and snack mixes and try this kid-friendly gourmet Ranch Chex Mix for your next party!

This ITALIAN CHEX MIX is the next best thing! Plus, you’ll love this CAJUN CHEX MIX for football parties, holiday parties, and Christmas. If you’re a fan of this Ranch Chex Mix and want to try the other versions, too.

    1. To measure 1 oz of ranch seasoning, use a kitchen scale for 28g, or roughly 2 tablespoons if you don’t have a scale.

  2. I made this for Christmas and it didn’t seem to have much flavor … it wasn’t bad just thought maybe more Parmesan or butter? It needed a little more zing

    1. It should taste loaded with zing. Did you possibly forget the ranch?

  3. I am making this today…how long will it keep in an airtight container?

    1. Hello Judy, the Ranch Chex Mix should stay fresh for about 1 to 2 weeks when stored in an airtight container. Make sure it’s completely cooled before storing to maintain its crispness. Enjoy your snack mix!

I made this recipe & did 300 in the oven.. and when I went to toss the mixture in the oven half of the pan burnt.. disappointed. Maybe it should be a lower temperature

    Reply

    1. Sorry to hear about the burning issue! Try reducing the oven temperature to 275°F and stir the mix every 10 minutes. Oven calibration varies, so an oven thermometer can help ensure accurate temperature.

  6. I haven’t tried this yet but look delicious. Just wondering if it could be done in an air fryer or would the seasoning get shaken off when tossing it?

    Reply

    1. I am sure it could be done in the Air Fryer, but I have no idea what times and temps. I would think it would need to be a lower temp and probably not much time.
