Here to give you a little motivation on this Monday morning, a perfectly simple and natural iced coffee recipe. Three all natural ingredients and make ahead convenience, so you just pour and enjoy!After all, who needs a hassle and artificial flavorings to get their caffeine fix when they have to go back to work after the blissful weekend? You may even be facing the first Monday the kids are going back to school, or if you’re like me, facing a longer commute because of all the extra traffic. I feel your pain. My commute is about to nearly double in the mornings. No more time to dilly dally at the coffee shop waiting on my iced coffee fix.On to the main event.

Gather your ingredients: Organic coffee, a can of sweetened condensed milk and distilled water (does that really count as an ingredient?)

Look Ma, No Artificial Ingredients! You can pronounce everything too!Truthfully, I found some amazing sweetened iced coffee that is locally made here in Nashville by a company called Switters. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll notice I posted about it not too long ago. It tastes so good and its made with these exact ingredients. I don’t know their recipe, but I just couldn’t keep going out of my way to buy three jugs a week without at least trying to make it myself. And it was a total success!

Brew your coffee of choice. I chose a whole bean with no artificial flavorings or preservatives. You can also choose pre-ground coffee, which I did on my first attempt. But seriously,you can’t beatthe taste whenyou grind it right before brewing. Plus, our Cuisinart coffee machine has the grinder built right in. Now while it’s brewing, you might want to check out my Blueberry Riesling Slush to help round out your day.I promise, this will be your go-to drink of the summer. I mean, I don’t know a single person that doesn’t like wine. So, you should definitely try it frozen. Just a friendly suggestion from one mom to another. But, back to the iced coffee.

Crack open your can of sweetened condensed milk. I highly recommend storing this when finished in a glass jug. Plastic breaks down when heated up and releases bpa’s. I also think everything tastes better when you drink it from a glass. Put a funnel in your jug and start pouring the condensed milk. If your glass jug has a big enough mouth to not need a funnel, more power to ya! Start with half the can to 12 cups of brewed coffee, then increase according to your own tastes. I’ve never been much for restraint. My mom says I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar. Yep, I used the whole can, no apologies.

Once the coffee is finished brewing, pour it in to the funnel too. It smells so good right now {MMMMMMM}! Those man hands belong to my husband. I just thought balancing a full hot coffee carafe in one hand with my camera in the other {and a broken shoulder to boot} would be a bad idea.

Now seal up your jug, cover it with a towel and shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty, shake your booty {while holding the coffee jug}! Trust me, use that towel just in case. You don’t want hot sweet coffee all over you and your kitchen.

Go ahead and taste it now and if you want more sweetness, add some more sweetened condensed milk. This step won’t be needed if you added it all to start with. What you need to do next is set it out on the counter to cool. You really don’t want to put a hot glass jug straight in to a refrigerator. Once it has cooled to room temperature, then you can stick it in the fridge. Next morning, you can just pour some out in your to-go cup and hop in the car to get your commute started. Enjoy!
